How to use a rock and roll bed

1. Remove any loose items from the seat and surrounding area.
2. Release the seat belt buckles so they cannot become trapped while converting from seat to bed.
3. Stand facing the bed to locate the recliner handle in the centre of the lower front frame. This is the same handle that is used for the reclining mechanisn.
4. With one hand lift the recliner handle to release the locking mechanism of the bed.
5. Gently pull the seat forwards with the recliner handle as far as you comfortably can. Once seat back begins to lower you can then put your weight on the backrest of the seat below the head rests to push the seat into the full bed position.
6. Ensure the bed is fully extended and lying flat before using it.

Never force the mechanism. If resistance is felt, check that nothing is obstructing the runners, hinges or any other part of the bed mechanism.

1. Remove all bedding and any items from the bed surface.
2. With one finger push gently on the inside end of the red Smartbed lever to unlock the bed and allow the bed to start to go back to the seat position.
3. Allow the bed to move upwards as far as it can without forcing it before gently pushing the bed rearwards in one smooth movement.
4. Continue pushing until the seat locks securely into one of the five recliner seating positions. This will also lock the seat into its travelling position. 
5. Check that the seat has positively engaged in one of its five locked positions before anyone sits on its or travels on it.

• Always ensure the bed is fully locked before driving away.
• Never allow people to travel with the bed in the sleeping position.
• Check that all seat belts are accessible and free from twists before using the seat for travelling.
• Keep hands and fingers clear of moving hinges and pivot points during operation to avoid injury to fingers etc.
• Do not exceed the maximum load specified for your Smartbeds model. This is typically one hundred and twenty five Kilos fully extended as a bed.
• Children should only operate the mechanism under adult supervision.

• Keep the runners and pivot points clean and free from dirt or debris.
• Periodically inspect all visible fixings for tightness.
• If the mechanism becomes stiff or difficult to operate, consult Smartbeds for a solution to any issues.
• Keep the upholstery clean by vacuuming it regularly and then clean with a suitable fabric, vinyl or leather cleaner.
